Kenneth J. Doka, PhD
Dr. Kenneth J. Doka is a Professor Emeritus at the Graduate School of The College of New Rochelle and Senior Vice-President for the Hospice Foundation of America. A prolific author, Dr. Doka has authored or edited over 40 books and over 100 articles and book chapters. Dr. Doka is editor of both Omega: The Journal of Death and Dying and Journeys: A Newsletter to Help in Bereavement.
Dr. Doka was elected President of the Association for Death Education and Counseling in 1993. In 1995, he was elected to the Board of Directors of the International Work Group on Dying, Death and Bereavement and served as chair from 1997-1999. ADEC presented him with an Award for Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Death Education in 1998. His Alma Mater Concordia College presented him with their first Distinguished Alumnus Award. He is a recipient of the Caring Hands Award as well as the Dr. Robert Fulton CDEB Founder's Award. Both ADEC and IWG honored him with Lifetime Achievement Awards. In 2006, Dr. Doka was grandfathered in as a Mental Health Counselor under NY State's first licensure of counselors.
Chace D. Campbell
Chace is the founder and managing attorney of ChaceLaw Limited Company, where he practices estate planning, business, and probate. Chace is a native of Washington state and an avid coffee connoisseur. He attended University of South Carolina School of Law, fell in love with the Palmetto State, and has made it his home since 1997. When he is not at work, Chace is spending time with his wife, Michelle, and three children, or preparing for his next outdoor adventure.
Laurie Forrest, LISW-CP-S
Laurie works with children, teens and adults. She is particularly passionate about working with all kinds of families as they move through grief and loss, difficult transitions and navigating new ways of engaging and connecting.
Dani Hatter, LPC
Dani works with children as young as four and is trained in Adlerian Play Therapy, allowing her to meet kids where they are and help them express themselves in ways that feel natural and safe. She is especially skilled in working with kiddos who are neurodiverse.
Molly Hill, BA, CVPM
Molly is a professional veterinary business consultant based out of Greenville, SC. Over 20 of her 35 years in veterinary medicine are in management. She specializes in operations, hospital culture, and HR compliance and has worked in general practice as well as urgent, emergency, and specialty care. Since selling her own veterinary practice in 2022, she works as media manager for the South Carolina Association of Veterinarians and absolutely loves it.
Scott Linnerud, MDiv, SCC-BC, CT
Scott has 30 years of pastoral experience in the local church in both the Mid-west and South. At the end of this time, he felt the need to shift gears and change careers. He entered and completed his chaplain residency at Spartanburg Regional Hospital System in Spartanburg, SC. He completed 3 Units of Level I CPE and 2 Units of Level II CPE. After graduation he began his hospice journey as a Spiritual Care Counselor at Interim HealthCare Hospice of the Upstate on June 12, 2017. He has continued with Interim in the capacity as both Chaplain and Bereavement Program Manager. In 2025 he was certified in thanatology by the Association for Death Education and Counseling. Scott has been married to Barb for 42 years. They have 4 children and 8 grandchildren. He enjoys running, reading, writing, and riding his bike.
Krista Martin, MSSW, LCSW, C-AAIS
Krista is a clinical social worker, consultant, and educator specializing in the intersection of mental health and the human–animal bond. She and her canine partner Eliot founded M3 Counseling, providing psychotherapy, consultation, and education. A recognized national and international speaker, Krista has educated thousands on veterinary social work, well-being, and belonging. She translates veterinary social work findings into actionable interventions and organizational frameworks that teams can implement immediately.
Lindsay McCarter, LISW-CP
Lindsay is a clinical social worker with a passion for treating anxiety disorders and addiction, but she is most closely connected to the indefinable power of grief work. In her private practice, she is blessed to assist fellow seekers in accessing their true nature, intrinsic wisdom and resources, and a better understanding of what they desire to experience in this human form. And there is no greater opportunity to discover these gifts than in the raw and untamed presence of grief-love.
Christy Rogers, DSW, MSW, LISW-CP, APHSW-C
Christy is a Bereavement Coordinator at Hospice of the Upstate. She has over 15 years' experience in hospice social work and bereavement care, the last six have been with Hospice of the Upstate. Christy moved to the Upstate after completing her MSW at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her BA in social work at Meredith College. Christy earned her DSW in 2024 from Simmons University. Christy also teaches in the Master of Thanatology program at Edgewood University. Christy has 2 adult children, a grand-dog, and 2 cats and lives in Taylors.
